A Letter to Expats Coming to Changzhou



Through the joint efforts of the people of Changzhou, major progress has been made in the epidemic prevention and control against COVID-19. As of February 25, 2020, there have been no new confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 in the city for seven consecutive days. Jiangsu Province has lowered its level of public health emergency response from level-I to level-II. However, we are still facing a sever virus situation as the number of newly confirmed cases in several other countries is showing an increase. We all share a collective responsibility to fight against the epidemic.

To ensure the safety and health of you and your family, it is recommended to follow the advices below:

1. During your stay in Changzhou, please be extra vigilant in following necessary health precautions, reduce outdoor activities, and avoid crowded places or social gatherings and parties. Wear a mask when going out, making sure that it is on correctly. Maintain healthy hygiene habits such as washing your hands frequently and keeping your room well-ventilated.

2. If you are returning to your dwelling in Changzhou from outside of China, please register at your community right after arrival. You will need to report the relevant travel history and residence information. Please follow local government’s guidance and advice on infection prevention and control. If you are visiting Changzhou temporarily for business activities, please coordinate with your host or local government to conduct relevant prevention and control measures.

3. If symptoms such as fever, cough, headache, fatigue or shortness of breath have occurred, report to your employer or community immediately. Take protective measures and avoid contact with others. Your employer or community will help send you to the designated hospital (The Third People’s Hospital of Changzhou; Add.: 300, North Lanling Road, Tianning, Changzhou; Tel.: 0519-82009980 ). Please inform the hospital of your travel history and those you have contacted with or other people who may have been exposed.
